It's going to be a busy week...

So this coming weekend is the Edmonton Folk Music Festival! You can find me in the craft tent. I'm pretty excited for it, and I only have 5 sewing days left...... . . .. . . . .. .  . 

 

I'll probably have some super rad mustache keychains, that were found in a treasury list on etsy today... 

This world.....

This is crazy, it must be year of the pickle or something... I'm in a third treasury list with the same item! I have been making passport sleeves for years... since 2006 or 2007... On my first big flight to Bangkok I noticed that my passport was hard to find in my bag, so I started making crazy colorful sleeves to slip them in and protect them from spills and grime.

I had a fantastic day and I have the sunburn to prove it. I had no idea there was a splashpark 3 blocks from my house! My sister and I took my nieces out and hurrah, had a few hours of un-suspected fun. Except when the homeless lady came and took a bath at the splash park. That was kind of awkward. 

BUT when we got home I had some packages of cool new lego to make into cool new things... 

Today in the studio we made over 100 really cool new lego pendants! All I can say is that they are pretty rad, and I don't want to sell any because I want them all for ME. But I will. I'll post pictures soon. 

Also have about 100 more lego earrings up for grabs... thanks to my lovely sister who packaged them all up while I was busy sewing more change purses...

Mustache Love.

My Mustache Keychains have been featured again in a treasury list! At first I got annoyed that so many people on etsy have copied my exact idea and design, but I guess it's flattering. And when I die I can rest easy knowing that I made a difference in the world. 

thanks so much passedby for helping spread the mustache love! This is the first time I have seen passedby's shop, and it's a really cool vintage shop... check it out! They have some awesome vintage license plate necklaces and I think I need to have one.... 

Next week will be my LAST week at the city market for a while, but come check out the FOLK FEST Aug 4-7... and the FRINGE Aug 12-21!

It looks like it's the year of the pickle, because my pickle passport case is featured again in a treasury list! And this time by one of my real live friends here in Edmonton. Thanks Becky. Thanks for all the support. I heart you. 

My bible got eaten by a dog at Living Waters Church.

Even though there is LOTS of summer left... I am thinking about the fall. Which makes me think about school... and I have a love-hate relationship with that. I love the courses and learning, but when you have 37 papers to write in 4 months plus make hundreds of bags to sell so you can pay rent and tuition I wonder why God gave me only 2 hands and 24 hours in a day? 

One of the things I am looking forward to the MOST is going back to East Hastings in Vancouver to do some volunteer work. I had a blast 2 years ago, and met some really cool people that shared parts of their lives and stories with us. I can't wait to go back! 

Just thought I'd mention that the dog in this photo knocked me down to the ground and tried to eat me, barked incessantly when I was public speaking, bit the blond, and also... ate my bible. 
 

Secret Agent Man!

What a super-amazing treasury list I find myself featured in on Etsy today! I wish I was an agent so I could be a double-double agent and make vast sums of money and send secret messages and use code words everyday. When I was a kid there were re-runs of "Get Smart" on after school and it was my favorite show! Thanks so much, PuaaNui for the shout out!

Sunny days...

This past Saturday was a phenomenal day at the market! It DIDN'T RAIN. We have had horrendous weather so far in Edmonton but thankfully it was a nice day and I sold almost too many bags. I usually never complain about that, but I can only make so many and I have the Folk Fest and the Fringe this summer! 

I am pretty famous for injuring myself in the dumbest ways... and this Saturday was no exception. The sun was glinting off of a mirrored high-rise and laser beamed my eyes. I got an instant migraine, and for 2 days now have had permanent flashbulbs. Eye patches are cool, however... so it ain't all bad. 

So I guess I'll see you, blind or not this coming Saturday at the city market on 104th street! I will have some new things, and new designs! Look for me by the Sobey's on Jasper ave. 

Also--- All custom orders from this date and wholesale orders will have to wait until the last week of August for delivery.
