These mustaches are really getting around... if you know what I mean... hah a. But they WOULD be a GREAT gift for FATHERS day now that I think about it! My dad had a mustache when I was a baby, and yes, that was in the early 80's. I myself don't like facial hair on men, so this is the PERFECT solution. You can always have a mustache with you, but remain clean cut and attractive at all times. YAY! You can get your own from my online ETSY shoppe... right HERE! Sunny Days and Etsy Front Page 05/16/09
Today was the first day of the Downtown Edmonton Farmers Market! Yay! I was very paranoid it would rain, and be gray, and drizzly and wet and musty and damp and windy and blowy.... the list goes on. But it was actually nice outside today! We even got a little sun, which probably helped to bring the crowds out. I have a spot right in front of the BLUE PLATE DINER which has very yummy food in case you're hungry. I am right beside the Happy Camel, which is a good and bad thing because I love hummus. Sometimes I eat hummus exclusively for a week, then move on to slurpee's or red peppers. Does anyone else do this? Eat one food for a whole week and then move on? Also my next question is--- Has anyone ever lost the feeling in they're finger-tips? I cut out a whole bunch of flowers the other day and when I was done the last section of my ring finger was all tingly. It's been awhile and it hasn't gone away! I'm a little concerned! Anyhow, regardless of the state of my finger it was a nice surprise to see my mustaches on the front page of ETSY tonight! Yay for the industrious little mustache keyring! OOOXXX
INTERNATIONAL FLUEVOG DAY!!!
That's right! It's May 15th and it's
International Fluevog Day.
Could life get any better than this? I first was introduced to them when I was in High school, and haven't looked back since! Over the years I have purchased a small fortune in Fluevogs and I love each and every pair. I am a shoe snob, I will be the first to admit it. I would rather die than wear bargain shoes. Every single time I try to be thrifty with shoes I vow never to do it again! It's like the bargain shoe hates me and decides to create cuts and blisters just for spite. They never fit well, are made of cheap materials and sometimes smell like plastic. I firmly believe that all shoes are not created equal, and not to say that the price should pay such a factor, but when you buy a pair of well made shoes they last a loooooong time. I have pairs that have lasted me 12 years at least, and since they are never really in style, I'm never out of style! One nice thing about Fluevog is that they have a green and vegan line as well. There isn't a lot of choice, but they are making the effort which still counts!

The finer things club...
We are back from Portobello West in Calgary! It was a super fun weekend and it was really nice to get out of town, even for just one weekend. Quite a few of us from Edmonton drove to the show, and we found a great place to get some comfort food. Diner Deluxe on ha ha... Edmonton Trail no less.... is a cute diner full of vintage lovelyness. Vintage tables and chairs, velvet paintings, kitsy lamps... it's like MY house but with food!
I met some great new vendors, and traded some bags for some very cool things. I got an amazing ring from Tracy at Chartreuse Designs which has handmade glass beads you can interchange! This is so ingenious, and hard not to buy 50 different beads! I was very glad to be her neighbor and peek at her glass. I also got a sweet little pillow from Clever Fawn, who is from Nelson, B.C. I have a soft spot for the color green... and this pillow is the same green velvet that my Grandmother had pillows made of when I was little. But this one has been made awesome with a cute leaping bunny applique and some gorgeous felt flowers. She also makes pretty felt flowers for your hair, and some swanky feather earrings. I don't use the word "swanky" very often, so you know I am wishing I had gotten a pair.... lol. I shared a booth with my friend Kelly Madden who makes evening wear and edgy coats and jackets. She entertained me with tales of bridesmaids dresses and bridezillas..... Ha Ha. Also it was really nice that my Calgary customers remembered me from last year. Thank you so much for your support!
But...
One of the best parts of the weekend was coming home and sleeping in my own bed. Which is calling me right now.......

Spring is here... so is the rain...
It's raining outside here in Edmonton. Which is ok, because I like the rain. I just don't like to get my hair wet. For some reason, in the movies everyone looks great with wet hair. This is not true in real life I have found. Also... I think everyone in the movies must wear waterproof makeup. I just make a mad dash to the house and hope no one see's me with raccoon eyes and frizzy wavy hair.
At least the rain means the snow is over, and this means our short Spring has come. My first spring show of the year was pretty fun, I got to meet some new vendors who were very cool! I picked up some spiral earrings from Kari Woo which are almost too "fancy" for me to wear everyday.... but will come in handy for when I dress like a grown-up. Next up I am in Calgary for Portobello West! Located at the Saddledome Fri, Sat & Sunday. I am looking forward to meeting new people and seeing what's at the show... Many Edmonton Vendors are coming down as well so watch out! Hope to see you there...

Etsy Front Page May 6/09
YAY! I love checking out etsy and finding myself on the front page! It's like a little mini miracle to me.... Those are my little pink and blue mustaches on the right. They are perfect for gifts, for a wedding, anniversary, really a celebration of anything boy-girl. I have a friend who is expecting the stork to visit and she will no doubt have a couple of these clipped to her shower gift!

Hey, what an awesome ETSY treasury list to make it's way to the front page! So much mustache goodness, I can't hardly stand it!
This weekend is the Spring Butterdome Craft Sale, located at the butterdome in ye old Edmonton. I am there and so are the rad mustaches you see above. Saturday 10-6, Sunday 10-5.
I have had some loyal customers stop by this weekend already, and I am so blessed by all the wonderful comments that were shared today! Some of my customers told me that they came to the Butterdome only to see me, and wow! I am so flattered... Thank you so much! I also had a surprise interview with Global T.V which was exciting! They are doing a story on ETSY and it will air on May 16th, approx. I always feel so dorky on camera, and think to myself "Do I really sound like that?" And then I get over it three seconds later... Have a super weekend Everyone.
