Cloud Nine...

Congratulations to blockpartypress on being the featured seller on Etsy this week!

I have been watching that shop for awhile and found the perfect necklace to buy for myself for my up-coming birthday. (Note, it's in exactly a month from today). I am not sure if everyone out there buys themselves presents, or if it's just me, but regardless I think I'm special so at least that's one person, right?

And life in general has been so good to me lately, I am sure to be on cloud 9 while I wear this necklace, and even when I'm not. My Roll Over sale in the shop was a big success, thank you so much to everyone who has supported me this month and offered kind words and encouragement. I appreciate you so much! Etsy truly is a wonderful community and I am lucky to be-friend so many other artists and crafters who understand what it is like to create something that hopefully will be deemed as wonderful.

A big sack of money....

If perchance a big sack of money was left on my doorstep.....

The first thing to do is make sure it doesn't have one of those Ink Explosion Devices inside. (I.E.D of course) If it does, you will know for sure because the ink doesn't wash off, and it will have exploded on you. This means the bag of money was stolen from a bank. Being covered with ink, you will look like the culprit.... so it's a good idea to wear rubber gloves. Wait, you should have done that first. Sorry. 

If it doesn't explode on you, then it's fair game. (for shopping. No wise investments allowed)

Try these on for size...

If ever I were to wear a ring on any of my fingers, this would be it! I am usually all about the pendants, but this little ring really caught my eye. It's made by daniellejewelry on Etsy and I love it! It is so unique, and pretty that it had to go on my wish list. The best part is that it is customizable with different stones.... mmmm. It does kind of remind me of mermaids... and the ocean a bit because of the pearls. And... everything else in Danielle's shop is so beautiful there's a reason she's in my "Favorite's" list on Etsy! Danielle tells me it can be made in Platinum and Diamonds as well... hmmm... can't go wrong there.

And mmm.... this necklace has been on my wish list for a LONG TIME! Wood and Resin from modica. It rocks. I need it. I love it. I know I have many necklaces.... but none like this. ... mmmmm love the blues and greens. I love the design of it, and everything in modica's shop is amazing! It also comes in warm tones as well...  and if you're lucky you can snag some matching earrings too! Except I don't wear earrings so save your money. I can't imagine the amount of detail work that goes into each piece...... wow.

And you know I would buy a whole lot of Fluevogs. Starting with these pretties..... 

And perhaps it's the right time to pick up a custom pencil Urchin from Jen Maestre? To me this is the epitome of the word "craft". Each pencil is hand sharpened, has a hole drilled into it, and sewn into an urchin. The amount of creative energy it takes to think of this, not to mention actually MAKING them is unsurmountable.  Jen also makes very cute pendants that are available in her shop! Jen has been featured in Craft Magazine, I know this because I read the interview myself...

And another lovely piece of neck-ware for this post is a Fawn Family from Figs and Ginger on Etsy! All I can say is that everything in this shop is gorgeous and very irresistable!  Everything is made by hand, and I am wondering if they live in a forest themselves.... if so, tell the elves to come to my house.

I could also be in the mood for a typewriter. My mom had a few that we played with as kids, and I think that writing could be just THAT more satisfying if there was a click when you pushed the buttons. You can get them at FRED FLARE.......

Relaxing....

I had a pretty relaxing weekend so far! After taking my mammoth amount of Etsy orders to the post office that is! Thanks so much for everyone who is participating in my Roll Over sale in the Shop! I am pretty happy with the results, and since the month is not over, excited to see what sells until Dec 1st. 

I noticed that DVD's are dirt cheap, so while I did some Christmas shopping this afternoon I picked up one of my favorite Trilogies. "Do you like Scary movies?" (I do). Some of them anyhow.... more suspense than horror.... that's right..... SCREAM! For $14! That is hours upon hours of entertainment for me..... I think I have rented this trilogy at least 3 times. So now I can see people being slashed anytime I want...... 

I also realized why I shop on monday afternoons. The malls are insane! Thankfully I am almost done shopping.... I did most of it online which is more relaxing than being elbowed by teenagers or getting stuck behind slow walkers. I was hoping to get a pretty dress up costume for my Niece at the disney store, but there were slim pickings. I just might go to Value Village and get her a hobo costume. I bet none of her friends have one. 

Otherwise.... I am taking it easy, following my doctors orders..... I will end up with physio for my back due to the accident which is un-fortunate, but that's life. The word "Accident" sums it up. Glad I can still make cool things that will be in my etsy shop, or at the Butterdome craft show! Which should be lots of fun, and I am excited to plump up my stock for the show.

Pretty exciting huh? The article is rather awesome and gives you some really great tips on how to be a successful seller on Etsy. AND tons of links on ways to help promote your shop...... flickr, twitter... etc. (Even some things I've never heard of!)

I usually check out Fred Flare every now and then for gift ideas and random useless things that could very well make me much happier and more content. (Today I was looking for gift ideas.)

  Pickle Band-aids! I love love love how band-aids have gotten a make-over recently.  I think it's amazing how we can cover up a gross, bloody infected wound with a colorful humourus sticker and it makes it all better. It's much more sanitary than a kiss, and if you squint hard enough it looks like a tattoo. Much more cost effective than a real tattoo.... this is the perfect gift idea for someone who is thinking about a pickle tattoo. Oh wait..... if you were thinking about a pickle key-ring.. I can help you out there. Check the shop! 

Stop and Shop Madness!

That's right, it was madness I tell you, MADNESS! Packed the place out and it was awesome. I have never seen the Arts Barn so full of happy happy shoppers! I was amazed at the amount of people that came through this weekend, and the fact that there was a line-up out the door and down the block at times. Thanks to everyone that came to the show and thanks to everyone that participated in my weird "Roll Over" sale. Hopefully I won't have to have one again! One of the best parts of the weekend were the warms hugs from my friends, and one little lady even brought me a slurpee. I also saw a man dressed in buckskin head to toe, wearing a Davy Crocket hat!!!! I have seen this guy walking along 170th street for years, and once I saw him at West Edmonton Mall and actually followed him around a bit. I actually got to meet him at the Stop and Shop? Of all places.

This weekend I managed to restrain myself and not shop for myself. I did pick up some pretty gifts for my baby Niece from Nest, and some items from The Phage for my friends.... Ok I did buy a belt for me from Catalyst. Which rocks. I was VERY tempted with the selection on Twee's table, and Sarah Jackson has a new book out called "The Jam Wars" which was also tempting. Oh well, what are you going to do? Save your money and pay out a huge chunk to your insurance company for the deductible on the van you smashed. And, sock some away for May when my insurance will double. And, replace all the equipment that got smashed in the roll-over.... and probably pay an arm and a leg for physical therapy for my back since I am self employed here.

Even though things are pretty terrible right now, I am getting excited for the Christmas Butterdome sale on Dec 4-7 in Edmonton! This means I get to make all new stuff! Which is my favorite part of my job, of course. My elves have been acting up and I had to let a few go, I know it's close to Christmas but it's hard to find good help.

And.... I did break down and buy a car starter. My old car (the first car I totaled) had one and it was very convenient. I really missed having one for the past two winters..... so I got the cheapest one I could find. They all have buttons so I can't see that spending an extra $200 is going to make a difference. I even bought the most boring one that exists, even though the sales guy tried to sell me the "flashy" model for the same price. That's right.... sticking it to the man. The sad part is that I can't get it actually installed until Dec 22. So, I have many freezing mornings to go through to get there........ Thankfully my Ed Hardy boots survived the crash and can help me out with that.

Roll OVER Sale

Hey Guys!

I am having a Super "Roll Over" Sale for this month in the SHOPPE.

On Monday November 10th I was in a roll over crash on the highway in Saskatchewan. I hit some black ice and lost control of the van and hit the ditch and rolled twice. Thankfully I landed upright, and a "Good Samaritan" stopped to help. The E.M.T and the R.C.M.P were right behind her, and it turns out we were very lucky to come out alive. I am still in disbelief that I didn't die! The van, however, will never walk again.
