Lovely Vinylness...

Are you excited? I am! I have been trying to organize myself and be more efficient and sometimes hard work pays off. I have a storehouse of lovely vinyl pouches made and it feels so good to accomplish something. I do however have a giant stack of Tote bags and Messenger bags to finish. Not to mention the huge stack of Ipod cases, and luggage tags and passport sleeves and card cases to finish.... as well as all the other things I have in mind.... I have some new designs for this period in time, whilst I enjoy sewing them. The Perfect Panda pouch, for example, and I have some really nice raspberry vinyl argyle pouches. And I have more of the Reddist Radish in stock as well... in white. And of course my most popular Green Egg pouch too. I am dilegently trying to save my stock for the Farmers Market --- because I really don't know what to expect. Will I have enough product? Will I make enough money to break even? Will everything fit in my car? I have so many questions and it just kills me that I don't know the answers. I am not a big fan of the unknown... but I need to get over it! I contacted the Caravan company yesterday to see about buying a fancy vendor tent. Oh wow. The image I had in my mind of how I want it to look, is not the same image they have in mind of how much it should cost. I wanted a pink one, with black walls with my logo printed on it, and removable signs for all 4 sides. Yes, that will cost about $1100-$1300. So, then I asked "What's the cheapest one you got"? I just can't justify spending that amount of money on a tent, I know that it would be wonderful, and well made, and eyecatching and so very professional looking, but.... sometimes plain white can be good. Can it? It's so plain. And stark. And boring. I don't know how I will survive.  I found a great deal on folding tables though, so I shouldn't complain too much.

I want to buy a Zombie...

This weekend I went with a friend to see the movie "Fido". And.... I think I have a new movie to add to my list of 10 favorites! It's a great little film, that was made here in Canada, can you believe it? I thought only washed up actors made Christmas movies here. Anyhow, it is great... it's about the Zombie wars of the 50's. You know, that was when the earth passed through a cloud of dust and made everyone who was dead turn into flesh-eating zombies. And not only that, there is still lingering dust that makes everyone turn into a zombie when they die. The movie is quite entertaining, and the relationship that forms between the zombies and the owners is quite heartwarming. It has been so long since I saw a really good movie! One without snakes on a plane. (I haven't seen snakes on a plane, and I hope I never do!) I wish that I had a zombie. When I was a teenager I was really into White Zombie, but I don't think that counts. Incidentally, the band named themselves after a movie called "White Zombie", directed by Victor Halperin, which is the first known zombie movie ever created.  Yay for Zombies!

Otherwise.... I picked up some more Bad movies to watch this week. All I do is sew, and watch movies. It's getting really boring. I think I have watched at least 6 this weekend alone, and gasp, there are still 4 more usable hours before I need to go to sleep  and dream about how much I love my job.

Weekend....

My weekend was one of the best ever. I worked really hard at being lazy. I was even too lazy to go to the video store to get new "Bad" Movies. But... by Sunday I slowly eased myself off of the couch, and made it. I picked up 4, count them- one-two-three-four bad movies to watch this week! I found a new video store to rent from and thankfully it is FULL of "Bad" movies.... Hallelujah! One thing I wanted to mention... I found out exactly what Caligula is about. Maybe not exactly... but they had just got it in at the new video place so I took a look at it. Oh my word.... it is like, rated R and it's endorsed by the Playboy mansion or something. I put it back on the shelf. I am really mad that this is on the list. I think what I will have to do is maybe watch 5 minutes, then turn the sound off and start sewing. lol. Oh dear. What can I do? (For future reference.... this "Bad" movie will get a bad rating.)

Anyhow... here are some things that are making me excited....

You know when you are a kid and you get a pittance for allowance? Well... we really did get a pittance in our family. $2.50 for cleaning the whole house every week? My sister and I did ALL the work, and me being lazy, usually didn't get allowance. Well... maybe not lazy, but I don't like being nagged and really, it was probably boring for me. Anyhow, the story continues to say that on school Field trips to the "Space and Science Center" some of the richer kids would get to buy Astronaut Ice cream at the gift shop. I was SOOOOOooooo envious. I guess that when I got older, I forgot about such things and was content with real ice cream. Content no longer! I went to check out the Lego exhibit that they have there and bought myself some astronaut ice cream of my very own. Then promptly forgot about it. Forgotten no longer! I plan to enjoy it tonight whilst toiling away at my sewing machine.....

And..... of course how much do I love these? Four bags worth.... if you haven't tried them, "Popping Mini Eggs" are my most favorite thing at the moment. I love to prank people, and handing these out and looking at the confused faces that I leave behind is priceless! I am trying hard not to be tempted to visit old folks homes and distribute these popping eggs! (Today at work I handed out "Double Salted" Dutch black licorice candies..... so much fun.... but no one will ever accept food from me again.)  I can't wait untill April Fools Day!

And... one more thing to get excited about... my disguise. And my beloved cat who-hates-everyone-and-tries-to-bite-them...... everyone except me because he loves me.

Oh, say can you see....

  My opinion on America... It seems weird that the bottom half of this continent is so very different from the top. You usually hear about the bad things, eg, Gov't, corruption, crime.... and form an opinion based on the negative. Because here in Canada, we often hear about outlandish legal cases, or war-hungry Gov't leaders, or murder cases... or the patriotism that you will never see here. Not that it's bad to be patriotic, but on T.V they show quite a few homes flying the American flag on they're property. If that is un-true, please enlighten me. How many homes do I see flying the Canadian flag? Um, none. Unless I am not very observant! But what about the good things? Like I have always wanted to see Mount Rushmore, and the Statue of Liberty, and it would be fun to go to Texas too.... but unfortunately visiting the White House isn't very high on my list. Don't get mad at me, but politics are really boring for me. I respect them... they just don't entertain me as much as a big mountain with faces carved into it. Fortunately I actually never have to feel guilty about not seeing the White House in person, because of the souvenir that my brother in Law got me there. It's a "George Bush and his Family" Paper doll set. I never would have imagined something like this could exist. I rather doubt that there is a "Jean Chretien" paper doll set. Too bad. my weekend so far....

This weekend is off to a great start! On Friday when I got home from work there was something in the mailbox. I love it when there is something just waiting for me to rip open and enjoy. In this case, the Art print that I had ordered from Almost Famous was here!!! As soon as I saw it, I had to buy it. It arrived SUPER quick, with a thank-you card and business cards too. If you have time, you should check out the shop; there are some other great paintings and prints for sale. Including Buddy Holly, and the elusive Pee-Wee Herman.
