I am super excited and I have some new designs that I just finished sewing up not 20 miniutes ago. More Comic Book Bags... New Hedgehogs.. new Robots with GOLD  Glitter.... mmmm. I seriously love to make things.

See you later... I need to make more luggage tags and key-rings.... more cosmetic bags too.

Craft show season! FINALLY!!!!!

After getting much sleep... it's time to blog again. I spent the weekend in Calgary Alberta at a craft show called Portobello West. I had the impression that this was a big craft show.... but..... it turned out that not many people attended! I am super glad that I had a free van, free helper, and free place to stay! You couldn't ask for better friends when it comes down to it. I am excited to see Portobello West grow as a venue, and to see more and more great vendors and shoppers attend! This show has great potential to be amazing. I know that crafting is not a guaranteed income... but I was disappointed to come home with so much product left! one good thing about having lots of stock... less work to do for the next one!

Which would be Edmonton Fashion Week April 23-30th. Come down to Churchill Square and check out Fashion Alley! I am partnered with Code Lime at the show and you couldn't ask for a better partner. I have many items from Code Lime.... thank God someone around here can Knit!

Next up Spring Butterdome May 9-11th. Click on the link and view a picture of MY card cases on the web page! I am excited to be a part of such a BIG DEAL craft show... I attended as a guest last year and the show was SO BUSY.... So many great vendors! Also look out for  The Phage, and Bootyfly Bags two more great craft show pals.

One more! Spring Stop and Shop Show May 16-18th. This is going to be a great show, the past two stop and shop shows have been great, and one of my favorite parts is meeting the other vendors. And... shopping! Everyone is so talented in ways that I am not... so thankfully I get to own locally made independent goods. This one has MORE vendors and they are amazing!

Otherwise if you can't make it.... come to the St.Albert Farmers Market I will be there the whole season! I have some other venue's pending for the summer.... so I won't post them in case I don't... ahem... get accepted!

My world is consumed by taxes, sewing, and hummus. In that order. See you soon... OOO XXX

Working for the weekend

So I spent most of today at a Flea market....  I usually stick to craft shows but since this one had a free entrance fee, it was easy to join in.... I spent most of the day chatting with Amy from My Sweet Lovable Goods, another local crafty girl and an ETSY seller as well, and looking through the vast assortment of tattoo mags she brought with her. So tempting....

Speaking of Craft shows, I will be in CALGARY next weekend at Portobello West which is a FASHION market, not a mushroom market as someone asked me today. Portobello is going on strong in Vancouver which is a far trek for me, thankfully they are expanding to Calgary too. If you're around, come and say hi! I will have TONS of new stuff and old favorites too. I will post pictures later this week. I am really excited!!! As always!

Now it's time to get in my Jammies, throw on 16 Candles and sew until my eyes are bleary and blurry and my seams are all crooked. That's when I know it's time to quit....

Happy Weekend! OOO XXX

Flea Market!

Flyer

This is where you will find me this weekend! For other fun stuff this weekend in Edmonton check out the Guerilla Boutique on Jasper... and did anyone know you can get a hamburger the same size as your head at the Motoraunt? I am hoping to make a trip down to check out this amazing burger myself. As well as building some stilts to try out. I figure that this is less dangerous than trying fire eating right off the bat? Someday soon.....

MARCH!

How can it be so late in the year and my stockpile of vinyl bags is so low? Get to work! I ordered some different colors of Glitter Vinyl from an etsy seller.. For some reason, I can't get orange, lime green or baby blue here in CaGlittervinylnada. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Anyhow, I was pleasantly surprised on Monday morning this week when it arrived! Woo Hoo! It's almost too pretty to cut. I sometimes wish that I could make a dress out of it.... tacky I know but that's how things are here at Majesty inc. We love the un-loved, black velvet paintings and all.

I also received more DVD's from www.zip.ca which has been regularly feeding my movie habit this year. My sister Theoutsidersbought me a 2 month free membership for my B-day, and I think I will continue on. I am really bad for late fee's and this way I won't get them! This week brought me "The Outsiders", (Which is funny, because I was just reminiscing about Pony Boy this weekend....) "Stardust", another Harry Potter movie... and something else that I watched yesterday but I seem to have forgotten.

Also... Monday brought me a cute bag from etsy... this one will match some cute sugar boots I have had my eye on at zappos for the past week. Hmmm. Except that the sugar boots I have right now make me look like i have CaNewbagnkles... at least I have the fear that everyone will think I have Cankles. You know, those silly thoughts that run through our heads. However, pleased to announce that eating healthy is a good choice, I am 12 pounds lighter than last year.....

Now it's time to sew.... later! OOO XXX

Even though it's exciting... you still need to mind your head.

  Along the river....
  Originally uploaded by Majesty.

So this past week I managed to find a great deal on vinyl, and ended up saving about $850. This does not happen very often, and at the perfect time because I'm busy making new spring items!

I bought a belly dancing costume. It is aqua, and has noisy things all over it. Pretty darn excited to wear it!

I went to the zoo. Saw an elephant paint some pictures... Of course, the Zoo does not exploit the Elephants, they CHOOSE to paint. ??? Still making money off an animal.

I tried 2 new recipes. But I didn't eat them... (Fish) Instead, I got some lemon grass to make Chicken Satay with that I will eat, because it's amazing!

I bought a new fruit... Kiwi Berries. They look suspiciously like genetically engineered kiwis that are tiny with no hair. Almost like little green baby hairless mice without heads or legs. But they taste like Kiwi's... not mice.

And.... I managed to find some baby blue, Lime green and Orange glitter vinyl from a seller in Chicago! It's being shipped this week!

I almost forgot... one of the sweet little girls at my church bought me some chocolates and wrote me a sweet note.... it was the highlight of my week so far. I love presents, and I love to give them way more than I like to get them... and it was such a pleasant surprise.

Take care everyone... mind your own heads and the snow.

I made it!

Onto the front page of Etsy today! Thanks to KittyCrossBones who gave me the heads up! I get all my promo items made by kitty, she's super quick and super nice. Anyone who has a Majesty button.... this is where they come from. And thanks to Karita for including me in her treasury list.

One Eyed Monsters....

Last night I had a dream about a girl who had octopus arms. It was very realistic, and not cartooney as you might be picturing right now.... But very slimy arms and she had the extra six to make an Octo-dozen. This dream came out of no-where and I was very surprised when I woke up this morning.                           Or should I be? I made some cute Octopus Passport Cases that can be viewed and purchased from my Etsy Shop... or just look at this little guy below... Octo_2 AWWWWwwwww. I am so in love with the little guys, I have great plans for the new one-eyed guy in the shop. It comes in Pink and Olive Green, Black and White, Aqua and Purple, and Aqua and Dark Blue. (SO FAR). Check the shop regularly for new items!

Another reason I may have octo-pie on the brain is that www.notmartha.org has clued me in to the hot new accessorTentacle_02_2ie. At GAIA you can get your very own tentacle arm and it's AWESOME! You really NEED to have two to get the full effect I think. And you know, I may actually order these. I can think of at least a dozen reasons you would need them, and at least a dozen occasions and places you could wear them. That means it's fate. I thought about making some with Vinyl, (Of course) and a bathroom tub mat, (For the suction cups) but it seems like an awful lot of effort. But I bet that somewhere out there, people have done it.

Check out Threadless for more Octo-Goodness....

Have a sea faring weekend! ARRRRrrrr.

The coming cavalcade of Queenly camaraderie. (Whew!)

Today in one of the ETSY forums today a fellow etsy seller WolfLodge, wrote a story about me!

Here it is...

Ok, the Story of How Majestyinc got her start:
Once upon a time there was a kind Etsy Queen named Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc. All of the loyal Etsy subjects loved her & worshipped the forums she wrote on. After all, with a name like that, how could she NOT be all Majestical & glorious & lovely & a hit at parties? They certainly held her in high EtsySteem!

On one particularly regular day, all the Etsyinians were about their business, many heading to the castle market for scones & yarn & craft supplies, for all the members of this Queendom were crafty & talented, and many were quite good looking.

At the front of the market stood a rickety old cart sticking out into the street. A tired old cross-eyed donkey stood sadly, still strapped to the cart, with oft-retied reins resting on his back. His eyes were red & rheumy, his hooves cracked & scraped by years clip-clopping down cobblestoned streets, dragging the old fart (Oops, I mean CART) behind.
The crowd scarcely noticed the old fart, hunched down behind the cart, which was heaped with plain, uninteresting & non-financially viable, well, crap.

A murmur arose from the crowd, a whisper growing to a dull roar, then to shouts & exclamations of joy & excitement: the Queen is coming! The Queen is coming! It’s really her, Her Royal majesty Majestyinc! OOOOOOoo, the anticipaaaaation! The castle market customers crowded close to the walls, craving a comfortable cushion from which to cast their collective peepers upon the coming cavalcade of Queenly camaraderie. (Whew!)

Several of the shoppers shoved against the poor old donkey, elbowing him in his sticky-out ribs just as the Queen’s carriage came clattering around the corner. Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc. Herself was leaning regally out of the carriage, waving sweetly at the crowd. Just then the final elbow-installer jolted against the poor old donkey ribs, & the little fartcart dragger could take no more. Hee-hawing his poor little heart out, he lurched forward to free his ribs from elbowed tyranny. The leaning citizens leapt out of the way, and several fell into the road, causing Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc’s driver to swerve away from the nearly roadkilled constituency.

Poor little donkey bolted out just as Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc’s carriage veered, & there ensued what can only be described as a calamitously crunchy crash! The regal person of Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc soared right out of her carriage, landing with a quite prim & proper thump upon the carts contents of plain, uninteresting & non-financially viable, well, crap. Her driver brought Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc’s team of cutely caparisoned Clydesdales to a cloppity halt just past the accident scene. Several Etsy artisans immediately knitted orange traffic cones to mark off the site.

“Your Royal Majesty MajestyInc!” the crowd screamed, “are you alright?” Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc blinked her baby blues, tossed her golden locks out of her face, & rubbed her rump gingerly. “I seem to be whole & hale & hearty,” she exclaimed, but what are all these beautiful treasures that softened my fall?” The crowd immediately organized a search party & formed a Street Team to locate said treasures, not noting that Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc was enraptured by the plain, uninteresting & non-financially viable, well, crap surrounding her regal posterior.

The owner of the fart cart tumbled to his feet, brushed off his ragged tunic, & bowed his way to his Queen catching cart. “They are but my meager wares”, he mumbled, bowing low, “ I am honored that they saved your royal arse!” The crown gasped; the driver bristled: the Queen giggled. “That they did, good merchant, that they did, and exceeding well!” “Tell me, what is it, & where did you find them?” she asked, running her alabaster pinkies over the heaps. “Tis known as Vi-nyl, my Queen, from the magical land of Dumpsteria.” “Wonderful!” gushed Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc, “Come, we will bear you to the palace, where you will dine, & your poor little donkey will rest & be groomed, & I will train my Royal Elvish artisans to weave wonders of Vi-nyl. Rejoice, from this day forward, you shall be known as Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc’s Royal Purveyor Of Plain, Uninteresting & Non-Financially Viable, Well, Crap.” Tell me, sir, what is thy name?” “Effluvius, my Queen” he stated, with a flourish & a bow (which incidentally caused the 1st 2 rows of onlookers to keel over).

The rest of the conscious crowd roared in joy, “Hail, Effluvius! Hail Effluvius! Hail Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc! And Her Royal Majesty MajestyInc’s Esty shop was filled to overflow with treasures of Vi-nyl, and they lived happily ever after

Da end.
WolfLodge, BS'er to the Crown

And it's totally awesome and totally made my day! No one's ever written a story for me before, and I love the aletteration and how my Queendome is full of crafty & talented people, and many were quite good looking. If only there were good looking crafty guys around!

I think that Wolflodge should start selling personalized stories as well as jewelry.....

Happy Family Day!

If you don't live in Alberta, Canada it's likely you have never heard about Family Day.

For most Albertans, it's the extra day where some don't have to go to work, and those lucky enough to be forced to work.... get paid overtime pay. Except here at Majesty.

I am hard at work making TONS of NEW STUFF for this season, as I will be doing quite a few craft/art shows this spring-summer-fall-winter. I have spent most of my weekend cutting things out. Cupcakes, Squirrels, Olives, Eggs... and some BRAND NEW  designs that you will hear about soon. I seriously have a lump on my middle finger... and I thought the more expensive the shears, the more comfortable. Uh Uh. Wishful thinking.

You know, I had a really great time this week. The February Curse is over!

I spent my weekend working, watching movies, hanging out with friends... belly dancing. (Or what might not be called Belly Dancing in my case. I just can't get the coffee grinder move down, but at least I can do the Gooch). I made a trip to Ikea, got to watch Dr. Zhivago  with a friend who coincidently helped me during that whole 3 hour long movie cut out some bananas. What a trooper! Tried some Belize cusine, took a few naps.

It was alright. Even though I practically had to force my family to spend 2 hours with me, and even then one out of two didn't show up. But... the day isn't over YET!

Take care, hope everyone got to get a hug today. Here's one from me. OOO XXX Does anyone actually know if the O's or the X's are hugs? I sure don't.
